Sapphire On The Rocks

This simply elegant ring holds a rich blue sapphire between a pair of wonderfully chunky old European cut diamonds. The similar scale of all three gems, combined with the contrasting shapes of the unusual rectangular sapphire and the circular diamonds, makes a wonderfully bold and graphic impression on the hand. The stones are held securely in platinum that practically disappears, but the shank of the ring is lush, 18k yellow gold. As comfortable as it is sophisticated! .90ct sapphire, .50 total carats in diamonds, ca. 1910. Current finger size 6.25.
