Niello, an exotic alloy popular during the turn of the century, was used to create strikingly graphic designs inlaid into silver jewelry for both men and women. This locket is a great example, featuring precise concentric circles alternating between bright silver and dark gray niello. Even the jump ring is carefully striped! One side of the locket is embellished with a 9k rose gold shield shape that’s never been engraved (but it could be!). Measures 1” across, and opens to receive your photo.
