Did you know that the word pansy comes from the French “pensée”, meaning thought? The flower has long been used to let someone know you are thinking of them. We are pleased to offer this exceptional Georgian era pansy dating from ca. 1820. As was the style during the period, the stones are set in closed backs lined with colored foil to amplify the color and light return of the gems. Our pansy features amethyst and citrine petals, with a natural ruby “eye”, all set into 14k yellow gold. The flower has a delicate granulated edge, and has been furnished with a (modern) 14k wheat chain. Measures 1” across, total length 17” (please note that foil-backed gems should be protected from getting wet).
