We swooned when we recently stumbled upon this spectacular arachnid! Our talented spinner wove her fine gold web inside the curve of finely detailed “branch”, back around 1865, then settled her diamond studded self in, waiting for her prey. This piece is a beautiful example of Victorian Naturalism, a renewed appreciation of the natural world inspired by the work of Charles Darwin. Measuring around 1.5” wide from branch tip to branch tip, this original pin has been converted to a necklace with the addition of a sturdy vintage chain for a total length of 19”.
