Oh yum! Deep red garnets are shown to great advantage in these quietly spectacular Victorian earrings. Dating from ca.1860, they are fully dimensional oval loop forms rendered in 14k gold that has been “bloomed” to create a bright, high karat, finish. Executed in the Etruscan Revival style, both the loops and the charming curled tops are ornamented with fine wirework in homage to ancient Greek and Roman jewelry from the 5th century B.C. These earrings are surprisingly light and comfortable… remarkable survivors from over 150 years ago. Measure 1 3/8” from the top of the ear wires.
