This pendant is just exquisite, the perfect blend of elegant form, excellent craftsmanship, sugary sparkle, and rich color. Signed JE Caldwell (a renowned 19th century firm), it’s crafted of platinum, and designed as a dangling pear cut blue sapphire suspended within a loop of glittery diamonds. There’s an opposing sapphire above, with a gracefully curved diamond bar connecting the two. . The pendant measures 1.25” long, and is a lovely scale that works on its own or layered with deserving friends. Platinum with .45 total carats of sapphires and .25 total carats in diamonds. Original 15.5” platinum chain. Ca 1905.
